A Hidden Retreat Where You Can Experience the Feeling of Edo-Period Travelers with 120 Years of History

[2025/4/17] | Guest from Spain | A Spring Day Connected Through Native Language

Hello✨ This is The Ryokan O in Nakatsugawa.

Recently, we welcomed a guest from Spain. Initially, the conversation took place in English, but when a staff member who speaks Spanish assisted, the guest enjoyed communicating in their native language. Since it is spring, we guided them to a famous cherry blossom viewing spot.

Our facility welcomes guests from all over the world, speaking various languages. While there are moments when communication is challenging due to language barriers, when we are able to understand each other, it creates a wonderful sense of connection.

Please feel free to ask us about local attractions and surrounding information. With 90% of our guests being international travelers, we foster a global atmosphere and regularly host events and workshops such as Noh theater, origami, Japanese tea ceremonies, Tanabata celebrations, and festivals.

Our concept is to offer a place where guests can experience Japan and Nakatsugawa through all five senses.

Access:
We are just a 2-minute walk from Nakatsugawa Station, and only 50 minutes by limited express train from Nagoya.
